The astl’s function is to protect and promote the interests of its members and to give confidence to all of the parties who transact business with the members. As the name implies the members are financial companies who provide loans and mortgages for short terms, usually no longer than one year. The astl requires its members to support its objectives, and to comply with all of the association's laws and regulations, and its own code of conduct. The objectives of the astl are to:

  • Create group of “appropriate” members, with common interests
  • Collect and distribute industry statistics and data
  • Introduce and manage a code of conduct
  • Protect members interests (including fraud prevention)
  • Handle external relations, and collaborate with the press and the regulators
  • Give confidence to the public, businesses, the financial community and parties who transact with the members

Pure Bridging is a founder member of the astl.
